Fishermen leaders to seek in-depth probe

Fishermen leaders have decided to meet Union Minister for Defence Nirmala Sitharaman requesting her to order an in-depth probe into the missing of Suvarna Thribhuja fishing boat.

At a meeting, the Malpe Fishermen’s Association, decided to submit a memorandum to the minister seeking a probe into the incident.

The fishermen leaders said the probe should also look into whether INS Kochi was responsible for the incident. The families of the missing fishermen are in distress. The centre should pay maximum compensation and provide other facilities to them, they urged.
