Karnataka High Court seeks Darshan's medical records over bail petition on account of spine ailment

The court has issued a notice to the Karnataka government in this regard.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday asked the state government to submit medical records pertaining to sandalwood actor Darshan Toogudeep Srinivas, accused in the Renukaswamy murder case. Justice S Vishwajith Shetty also ordered notice in the bail petition filed by the actor.

Darshan is accused number 2 in the Renukaswamy murder case. On October 14, the trial court had refused bail to Darshan, Pavithra Gowda (accused number 1) and a few other accused persons in the case. The trial court had held that there was scientific evidence, in the form of DNA and CDR, which positively establishes the presence of Darshan at the crime scene.

Renukaswamy, who worked in Chitradurga, was allegedly kidnapped and murdered at a shed in Pattanagere in Kamakshipalya police station limits in Bengaluru city. The prosecution's case is that the accused had tortured Renukaswamy at the shed in Pattanagere and murdered him. They later disposed of the body in a storm-water drain.
