In its bid to escape from the trap laid near Devanur ‘A’ village, the tiger lost its incisor causing heavy bleeding. Besides, one of its paws and nose are injured as it rubbed against the metal cage.
The tiger is quite weak, said Principal Chief Conservator of Forests B K Singh, who had earlier told Deccan Herald that the animal would be set free in the wild.
“It is incorrect to restrict the wild cat inside a cage,” he had said but changed his mind after seeing its condition. “We will take appropriate steps only after the tiger recovers completely,” he added.
