<p>The knowledge of law helps to lead a better life, said District Legal Services Authority Member Secretary Hemavathi.<br /><br />Speaking after inaugurating legal awareness workshop jointly organised by the District Legal Services Authority and Industrial Training Institute, she said the laws have been formed irrespective of the differences between rich and the poor. <br /><br />The Legal Services Authority has been instituted by the government to enable the poor to avail legal benefits. All those who are financially weak can benefit from the Authority. <br /><br />The Authority will provide legal aid free of cost, she informed. As the workshop was organised to mark ‘the World No Tobacco Day’, the District AIDS Prevention Officer Dr K G Siddaiah explained the ill effects of tobacco consumption. There is an increasing tendency of tobacco consumption among youth. Every day as many as 1 lakh youth get themselves addicted to tobacco, he revealed.</p>
