<p class="title">Deputy Commissioner Charulata Somal directed officials from the skill development department to initiate measures to impart vocational skill training to all those who have registered under the scheme, in a phased manner.</p>.<p class="bodytext">She was speaking during a meeting on the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and Mukhyamantri Kaushalya Karnataka Yojana in Madikeri.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Along with providing employment to the eligible unemployed people, the department should also provide vocational training for the members of self-help groups, she said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Training in tailoring, embroidery, mobile repair, vehicle repair, repair of home appliances and others should be provided, she directed.</p>.<p class="bodytext">For the effective implementation of the Kaushal Mission Scheme, the various departments should constitute a sub-committee of the district Kaushal Mission. A detailed report on the same should be submitted, she added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">District Employment Officer Uma said that already 8,000 people have registered for skill training in the district. The target is to train 145 people this year.</p>.<p class="bodytext">A training centre is situated in Virajpet on Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. Vocational training is imparted at the centre. Training is imparted through various institutes under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and Mukhyamantri Kaushalya Karnataka Yojana, she added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Urban Development Cell project director Raju said that loans are being sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Svanidhi for street vendors. To improve livelihood, the Atmanirbhar scheme for street vendors is being implemented.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Lead Bank manager R K Balachandra said that 18,400 self-help groups have been registered with the bank in the district.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The meeting also discussed upgrading government industrial training institutes with the help of Tata technologies, loan for street vendors and the constitution of sub-committees under the district Kaushal Mission.</p>.<p class="bodytext">COBSETI director Suresh, ITDP officer Shivakumar and others were present.</p>
