<p>Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will not resign, the chief minister’s office (CMO) clarified on Wednesday.</p>.<p>This was in response to speculation in a section of the media that Kumaraswamy was considering stepping down owing to ill health. “It is far from the truth...,” the CMO said in a statement.</p>.<p>Kumaraswamy himself tweeted, from his verified Twitter account, that news about him resigning was “baseless”.</p>.<p>Kumaraswamy, 58, is diabetic and has had two heart surgeries — one in December 2007 and the last one in September 2017. By his own admission, Kumaraswamy is highly prone to infections and allergies. During his tours last year, he developed a bad cough after inhaling firecracker fumes. He had to skip events more than once on health grounds.</p>
