<p>City Municipal Council Commissioner M V Tusharamani has directed the owners of lodges and hotels in the city to provide parking facility for customers’ vehicles, before November 9.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking during a meeting organised by the Police Department and the CMC, along with lodge and hotel owners on Tuesday, Tusharamani said that the public have been facing a lot of inconvenience, owing to haphazard parking of vehicles by the customers visiting lodges and hotels at M G Road, I G Road and Market Road.</p>.<p class="bodytext">It is the responsibility of hotels and lodge owners to provide parking facility for their customers’ vehicles. A month’s time will be given (till November 9) to provide the facility, failing which, legal action would be inevitable.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Waste management cess has been imposed on hotels and lodges. Big hotels and lodges are required to pay Rs 70 and small hotels have to pay Rs 50,” Tusharamani said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Superintendent of Police K Annamalai noted that the public places meant for parking are being used for commercial purposes, which should be strictly avoided. </p>.<p class="bodytext">CMC President Shilpa Rajashekhar and Vice President Sudhir and Commissioner M V Tusharamani were present at the meeting.</p>
