<p class="rtejustify">Mangaluru Literary Foundation will host the maiden two-day Mangaluru Lit Fest on the theme — ‘The Idea of Bharat’ at TMA Pai International Convention Centre here from November 3.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Organising Committee Member Rohinaksha Shirlalu, briefing media persons on Tuesday, said the lit fest is an attempt to showcase the ‘The Idea of Bharat’ – ancient Indian wisdom of peace, brotherhood and universal well-being through intellectual discourses.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Saraswati Samman award-winning novelist S L Bhyrappa will be felicitated with the lifetime achievement award for his contributions to the literary world. The lit fest will be held in five languages — English, Hindi, Konkani, Tulu and Kannada and will be a platform for monologues, panel discussions, symposiums, along with book and art exhibition, he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Stating that coastal districts have contributed a lot to the Kannada literary world, Shirlalu said Mangaluru Lit Fest intends to highlight literary and cultural diversity, thus creating a platform for promoting intellectual deliberations.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Prominent writers participating in the lit fest include Rajeev Malhotra, David Frawley, Major Gaurav Arya (Retd), R Jagannathan, Madhu Kishwar, Sahana Vijayakumar, Shefali Vaidya, Prakash Belavadi, Vivek Agnihotri, Sandeep Balakrishna, Anand Ranganathan, Chakravarti Sulibele, Rohit Chakratheertha, M and Anirban Ganguly.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">He said the sessions of the lit fest are ‘Modinomics—Reactionary or Revolutionary’, ‘Reclaiming the True Hindu Narrative’, ‘Aurobindo’s Idea - Spiritual Nationalism - Going beyond European Idea of Nation States’, ‘The Selective Outrage — Good Dissent, Bad Dissent or Dissent of Convenience’, ‘India Academia and India in Academia—a Debate’, ‘Urban Naxals’, ‘Hindu Civilisation—Under Seize or on Upsurge’, ‘RSS 360 Degree - Facts Vs Fiction’, ‘Overreaching Regulations and Relentless Faith—Traditions, Courts and Constitution’, ‘India in Cinema — Representation and Narrative’, ‘Women and Religion—from Triple Talaq to Sabarimala’, ‘Engineered Violence in Kerala and Kashmir’ and ‘Regional Art, Culture and Literature’.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Books - ‘Your Prime Minister is Dead’ by Anuj Dhar, ‘Jobs crisis in India’ by R Jagannathan,’What is Hinduism’ by Dr David Frawley and ‘Kasheera’by Sahana Vijayakumar will be reviewed on the occasion.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Organising member Sriraj Gudi said that in addition to literary discussions, the lit fest will have a workshop on clay modelling by Ravi Gunaga and photography by Saravanan<br />G N.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Already, 750 members have registered their names online for the fest.
