<p class="title">The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team, in order to create awareness among the public, will conduct a mock rescue operation on May 29.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The mock operation will be organised at Hebbettageri and Hattihole.</p>.<p class="bodytext">A preparatory meeting in this regard was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Annies Kanmani Joy on Tuesday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The deputy commissioner said that all the rescue forces should be alert as the monsoon is set to enter the state in the first week of June.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“The rapid response team, the NDRF, the SDRF, the fire and emergency services and the Police Department need to work with coordination,” she added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Shivashankar, Mangaluru region fire and emergency services chief officer, said that there is a need for an information communication system among the officials of various departments so that the personnel can keep in touch during natural calamities.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Dr Vishwanath, Revenue Department natural disaster management special officer, said that steps will be taken to shift the people who are residing in the regions identified as vulnerable to natural disasters.</p>.<p class="bodytext">People will be sensitised on managing the situation and remaining calm, he added.</p>
