<p>Minister for Tourism, Ecology and Environment C P Yogeeshwara said that the state government is committed for the development of tourism and a series of programmes will be organised all round the year on Mysuru Palace premises, to attract more tourists.</p>.<p>The minister disclosed the plans of the government to boost tourism, while interacting with journalists, at Mysuru District Journalists’ Association here on Friday.</p>.<p>An annual timetable for cultural activities is prepared for all 365 days on the Palace premises. “Programmes will be held between 4 pm and 10 pm. We will get advise of historians, writers and prominent personalities in the cultural field, about the events,” he said.</p>.<p>Yogeeshwara said, “A Disneyland-like project at Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam in Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district, will be taken up and Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa is considering the plan. It will be taken up under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model soon. The project is an extension of the Brindavan Garden and it will be taken up without harming the KRS dam.”</p>.<p>The minister said, “The government is committed to develop a rope-way to Chamundi Hill as a tourists’ attraction. As the project is opposed by eco-activists, the rope way will be developed without disturbing the ecology. The rope-way can be developed without harming the nature using modern technology.”</p>.<p>“We have planned to develop the rope-way at Nandi Hills also. There are many rope-ways in North India. Rope-ways are planned to boost tourism and to attract tourists. A few indigenous companies, having experience in developing rope-ways, have approached the government,” he said.</p>
