<p>Chinganda and Biddiyanda family members observe this festival with traditional fervour. One family will carry the God’s umbrella and the other family will play the flute. ‘Belagina habba’ will be held on February 25. ‘Pattani’ will be held on February 26. On Pattani, women from 16 families clad in white sarees will observe ‘Chembu cherk’ on the occasion. Later, bullocks will be made to run three times in the field. <br /><br />Majority of the Golla community reside in Ayyangeri. Accordingly, they observe Chinnathappa. The flute which will be worshipped in the temple throughout the year, will be taken out in a procession. <br /><br />The Sri Krishna temple is unique from other temples in the region. The temple has a statue of Srikrishna with flute. Pooja is offered to the statue daily. <br /><br />During the festival, the statue of Sri Krishna will be worshipped under a peepal tree. Women clad in white saree representing each family carrying deepa, flowers will take part in ‘Pattani festival.’ The centre of attraction in the festival is flute. However, while leaving for Mathura, he had left the flute. Since then the people of the region have been worshipping flute. According to few, a flute which came floating in the river was taken away by the Golla community members and started worshipping it. <br /></p>
