District BJP spokesperson Mahesh Jaini said that the speech delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rajya Sabha on Monday shows his concern for the farming community and the financially less privileged.
"The Prime Minister had spoken about the modernisation of APMCs, continuation of minimum support price for agricultural produce and ration supply for around 80 crore financially backward people," he said.
Stating that the new amendments to the farm laws are necessary towards the comprehensive development of the agricultural sector, Mahesh Jaini said that the Prime Minister has sought cooperation from all opposition parties to take the nation on the path of progress. All other parties should understand this.
"Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had assured of improvising the agricultural market. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented the same," he added.
The Prime Minister has also touched upon the crucial subjects, such as India's defence priorities and on the progress achieved in terms of technology, said Mahesh Jaini.
He said the firm stand taken by the Prime Minister on Covid-19 has helped the country to gain control over the pandemic.
The speech by the Prime Minister in the Rajya Sabha was relevant and effective, he added.
