<p class="title">Members of various planters’ associations met Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and requested him to completely waive the interest on the loans availed by the growers from cooperative banks.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The leaders representing Karnataka Growers’ Federation and Coorg Planters’ Association also requested the chief minister to give provisions for growers in the state budget.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“The loans provided to the MSME sector by KSFC at 4% interest rates upto Rs 10 crore, should be extended to the agriculture sector as well. Relief should be provided to the growers who have suffered losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” they said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">After submitting the memorandum to the chief minister, the members of the delegation said that Yediyurappa has responded positively.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Karnataka Growers’ Federation vice president Nanda Belliyappa, secretary Krishnappa, treasurer Rajiv, organising secretary K K Vishwanath, Rathnakar, Coorg Planters’ Association president Ramanathan Nagappan and others were part of the delegation.</p>
