<p>Kalaburagi: Most of the leaders used the Janakrosha Yatra organised by the BJP on Friday to criticise the performance of District In-charge Minister Priyank Kharge, to condemn the price hike, Muslim appeasement policy and misuse of Dalit funds by the state Congress government.</p><p>Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, former minister B Sriramulu, and MLC N Ravikumar severely criticised Priyank.</p><p>Chalavadi Narayanaswamy said, “Priyank Kharge has made the district a republic. Even the Home Minister is hesitant to set foot in the </p><p>district. Kalaburagi police give Priyank zero traffic facility that is not available in the state. </p><p>“They do not want other Dalits in Kalaburagi. That is why Congress candidates have lost in two reserved seats. Injustice is being done to the Dalits of the district,” he criticised.</p><p><strong>‘Sand is being looted’</strong></p><p>“Sand looting is going on unabated in Chittapur taluk of the district. About 700 to 800 truckloads of sand are being looted every day. Sand that is available for Rs 5,000 is being sold for Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000,” he lamented.</p><p>“Despite Kharge being in power in the district for five decades, Dalits have not been uplifted. </p><p>“The Congress, which used to say ‘Garibi Hatao’ (remove poverty), is now engaged in ‘Garib Hatao’ (remove the poor). It has misused the Rs 41,000 crore funds allocated for the welfare of Dalits,” he alleged.</p><p>Former minister B Sriramulu said, “BJP leaders who questioned the illegal extraction of sand from the Kagina river in Chittapur taluk are being threatened by Priyank’s supporters. We will give a befitting reply to this in the coming days. Such a Hitler-like behaviour will not be tolerated,” he said.</p><p><strong>‘Their contribution zero’</strong></p><p>MLC N Ravikumar said, “What is the contribution of Mallikarjun Kharge, Dr Sharan Prakash Patil, and Priyank Kharge to the development of Kalyana Karnataka? Why have irrigation facilities not been provided to the farmers of the district? The Rs 667 crore of the Fasal Bima Yojana that the farmers of the district have got has come from the crop insurance introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When our government was in power, Priyank Kharge and Dr Sharan Prakash Patil had staged a protest in front of the DC office demanding compensation of Rs 25,000 per acre for the loss of tur crop. Now, when they are in power, why has it not been increased?” he questioned.</p><p>Former MP Umesh Jadhav, MLAs Basavaraj Mattimadu, Avinash Jadhav, Shashil Namoshi, B G Patil, Sunil Valyapure, former MLA A S Patil Nadahalli, Rajkumar Patil Telkur, Dattatreya Patil Revur, Subhash Guttedar, Amarnath Patil, State secretaries Tammesh Gowda, Sharanu Tarikeri, former minister Baburao Chavan, Rural District President Ashok Bagali, SC Morcha State Vice-President Ambaraya Ashtagi and others were present on the occasion.</p>
