<p>A retired female soldier of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) committed suicide by consuming poison in Koothi village of Somwarpet taluk, Kodagu district.</p>.<p>The deceased has been identified as Devakki (46), wife of Chandrashekar, who is also serving in the CRPF.</p>.<p>She is said to have consumed poison on May 3, after which she was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru. She died on Monday night.</p>.<p>Devakki had joined the CRPF in 1995 and had served for 22 years in the force across various states. She had opted for voluntary retirement two years ago and had taken up farming later.</p>.<p>Her husband Chandrashekar is currently serving in Chhattisgarh. She is survived by her two sons. The reason for suicide is still not known.</p>.<p>Somwarpet police have registered a case.</p>
