There is nothing wrong to aspire to come back to the post, he added.<br />To another question whether he would vacant the post whenever Yeddyurappa asked him to do so, he said he had taken oath as chief minister and did not want to predict anything. "There are people to do that job (of prediction)," he stated. On senior leaders, including Jagadish Shettar and the Reddy brothers, boycotting the swearing-in ceremony, he said differences were common in every political party. All issues had to be resolved amicably, he added.<br /><br />Asked about the rival faction's decision not to be part of his Cabinet, he said everybody was free to take their own decision. "The party has 121 MLAs and I will assure you of providing a stable government," he stated.<br />To a question whether he would be able to keep his trademark smile for the next two years, he said he had been able to maintain the smile for five decades and it would not be difficult for him to do so for two years. He also said he had taken prime responsibilities whenever the party was in a difficult situation. <br /><br />Earlier, he said development and good governance would be the focus of his government. He lauded the previous Yeddyurappa government for giving a new direction to development programmes and said he would adopt its model.<br /><br />Gowda said he would strive to achieve further progress by consolidating the development which had already been accomplished.<br /><br />“I have resolved to make dedicated efforts to build the State with the active support and cooperation of all the legislators and leaders of my party as well as the opposition parties,” he said.</p>
