Scouts and Guides help children in learning the skills, said Scouts and Guides district unit Commissioner A N Mahesh.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking at the valedictory of second Sopan exam camp, organised by the Scouts and Guides, he said Scouts and Guides inculcates discipline and service attitude in students. Students are also taught preparation of estimate, conservation of environment among others.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Scouts and Guides does not end with graduation. There is a need to introduce it at the university-level as well, he said. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Scouts and Guides district President M N Shadakshari called upon the students to imbibe patriotic fervour.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Scouts and Guides taluk unit President Nandakumar said that the Sopan exam camp was organised for second time in the district. Those who pass in second and third sopan examinations are eligible for President’s medal. As many as 210 students participated in the camp.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The students were taught first aid and identifying the path in forests.</p>
