<p>Diagnosed repeatedly with the liver tube infection, Shivakumara swami, the 111-year-old senior pontiff of the Siddaganga Mutt will be taken to Chennai for treatment. An expert team of doctors from Chennai visited the mutt on Thursday and carried out various tests on Swamiji. </p>.<p>According to sources, seer developed an illness due to his liver tube infection on Thursday morning. Recently, the pontiff was discharged from BGS Gleneagles Global Hospitals in Bengaluru after the doctors inserted him with fresh stents.</p>.<p>However, due to infection, the seer developed fever and a team of doctors led by Dr Ravindra carried out various tests on seer since Thursday morning. Later they were assisted by Dr L N Kumar, an expert doctor from Chennai. The doctors' team held various rounds of discussions to convince the seer and shift him to Chennai for advanced treatment. </p>.<p>The seer, according to sources, was reluctant in the beginning but later agreed to be shifted to Chennai. Addressing reporters at the Mutt, Junior pontiff of the mutt Siddalinga Swami said, "The swami is healthy and doing well. We have decided to shift him to Chennai tomorrow. He is repeatedly diagnosed with infection ever since he underwent surgery in 2016. We are shifting him to Chennai for permanent treatment." </p>.<p>Sources revealed to DH that the seer would be admitted to Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre in Chennai on Friday. Dr. Mohammed Rela, a renowned liver transplant surgeon is expected to treat the seer.</p>
