<p>Edmond Fernandes would probably is one of the youngest authors in Mangalore to have connected his thoughts with reality and enshrined them in a book ‘Small things that matter much’. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The 21-year-old has shared his life’s insights coupled with quotes and poems from famous personalities.<br /><br />Speaking to Deccan Herald, Edmond said that he was able to write the book as he trusts his instincts and is willing to do things differently. “This book is a collection of my thoughts, reflections and reminiscences. It questions the inherent worth of human being in this materialistic age,” he says.<br /><br />Edmond who is currently studying his final year MBBS at Fr Mullers Medical College Hospital says that writing has always been his passion and hobby.<br /><br /> “My hobby never came in between my studies, instead it enhanced by confidence and boosted my morale,” he adds.<br /><br />“When you do things that you are interested in, then it becomes a joy than a burden. People should have willingness and keep things in priority,” he says.<br /><br />Edmond has already begun working on his next book which deals about health care delivery in India. “The book is in its concept stage and I am waiting for a good publisher,” he says and adds that book publishers today discourage young writers. There is a need to recognise young talent and give them encouragement, he concludes.<br /><br />Launch<br /><br />‘Small things that matter much’ authored by Edmond Fernandes and published by ‘Dhatri Pustaka’ was released by Bishop of Bellary Rev Fr Henry D’Souza.<br /><br />“Small things may look insignificant and may often escape our attention, but they are very important. It is these small things that touch us and transform us. They will be the agents of change,” he said. <br /><br />On a concluding note, he said that yesterday is a waste paper, today is a newspaper, tomorrow is a question paper and one should make his life an answer paper.<br /><br />Eminent author Giselle Mehta said that small things add up to a big picture and Edmond in his book has contributed to the human personality. “Edmond has mediated positivity into awareness. I am impressed the way he advocates joys of service in our selfish times,” she said and added that the book gives a stimuli that helps the thought process.<br /><br />CASK President Dr Derick Lobo said that the book is meant for people with all ages but would be a great help to youngsters as it will help them reflect on life and youth can connect with the young author.<br /><br />SDM Law College Principal Dr B K Ravindra said that many youngsters have lost interest in living and Edmond is a role model as he is filled with energy and potentiality.<br /><br /></p>
