<p>Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, on Saturday, said his government would not allow cultivation of Bt brinjal which would prove death knell for native breeds of brinjal grown in the State.<br /><br />The government had already written to the Centre in this regard. “There are reports that it can cause serious health problems for human beings. Then why should it be allowed,” he asked.<br /><br />Many non-governmental organisations promoting sustainable development and scientists had urged the State government not to allow entry of the crop into the State.<br /></p>
