<p>The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, will conduct Swaccha Sarvekshana Grameen -2018’, from August 1, across the Nation, including Karnataka, said Urban Development and Housing Minister U T Khader.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Addressing reporters at Circuit House in Mangaluru on Friday, he said that the teams from the authorised survey agency from the government will visit 6980 villages in 698 districts and will interview 50 lakh villages. A total of 34,900 public places will be covered under the survey. The idea behind the survey is to gather the perspective of the community on cleanliness, their recommendations and the progress achieved by the districts. Rankings will be given to the districts and the states according to the marks scored under various related topics. The survey would be conducted from August 1 to 30.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The public is requested to keep public places, schools, anganwadis, markets, drinking water storage tanks, panchayat offices, primary health centres, religious places and toilets clean.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The minister called upon the concerned people to cooperate with the administration and help the district and state achieve high rankings.</p>
