<p class="bodytext">The 14th cleanliness drive under the fifth phase of Swachhata Abhiyan was conducted by Ramakrishna Mission, at Jeppu on Sunday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Dirt and garbage littered in the area were removed and the area was cleaned.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Two tippers of construction debris lying scattered in the region were removed using earth movers. Students of Srinivasa Institute of Technology took part in the voluntary work. A team of volunteers comprising local residents also participated in the drive and cleaned the Jeppu fish market area.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Compounds were cleaned and repainted. Flower pots were placed at the spot. Volunteers visited each and every shop and street vendor urging them to keep the area and their surroundings clean. Volunteers cleaned the drains adjoining Bhagini Samaj and Jeppu market. Road and footpaths from Jeppu Market towards Morgan’s Gate were cleaned.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Volunteers of the Swacchata Abhiyan removed nearly 500 flexes from State Bank, Hampankatta, Mallikatte, Jyothi, Falnir, Mangaladevi Road, Balmatta, PVS and other places. Students of Karnataka Polytechnic did voluntary work for two hours on airport road in front of KPT.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Ramakrishna Mission has conducted Swacch Soch Seminars in Women’s First Grade College, Puttur, Vivekananda Law College, Puttur, Alva’s Post Graduate Section, Moodbidri, Vivekananda College of Engineering, Puttur, Sridevi College of Engineering at Kenjar, Vivekananda Arts and Science College, Puttur, Alva’s Institute of Technology at Moodbidri. As many as 41 seminars have been organised till date.</p>
