<p>Tahsildar T Gopinath on Saturday held a discussion with the nomadic tribe families who deserted their huts at Seeguvani Circle, in Bale Gram Panchayat, fearing a superstitious belief.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He sought to know the reason for them deserting their land and also the name of the astrologer who had said that the 60 families of Havugolla and Hakki Pikki community, who were living at Seeguvani Circle were in danger.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Community members Venkatesh and Nagesh said that the untimely death of youths in the community forced them to seek help from an astrologer, who in turn told them of black magic possessing the families. They promised to return if they are given sites at B H Kaimara, Kuduregundu, and Seethooru.</p>.<p class="bodytext">ZP member P R Sadashiv said the families will get the title deed for the land identified by the taluk administration.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The authorities had already given the families ration card, LPG connection, Aadhaar card and voters ID. The title deed could not be issued for the said land at Seeguvani Circle as it was a forest land.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The tahsildar promised to distribute land in the taluk if they are ready to reside in the land identified by authorities. After lengthy discussions, it was decided to distribute land to the nomadic tribals at Gubbiga, Bale, Nagalapura villages.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The nomadic families after deserting the village were scattered in different parts of the taluk. The officials and the police convinced them to attend the meeting. The families were also asked to register their names in the houseless list on Monday.</p>
