<p>A large number of people from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga and Bengaluru paid their last respects to IPS officer Madhukar Shetty at Yadadi-Matyadi village in Kundapur taluk on Sunday.</p>.<p>The last rites of the officer was performed as per the Bunt tradition, next to the graves of his father Raghuram Shetty and mother Prafulla Rai. Madhukar Shetty’s daughter Samya and brother’s son Sarang lit the pyre.</p>.<p>A large number of police officers from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, in addition to state police officers, Minister U T Khader, Opposition Leader of Council Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLAs Haladi Srinivas Shetty and Sukumar Shetty were present.</p>.<p>The police fired three-shot rifle salute and presented a guard of honour. Madhukar Shetty’s uniform and cap were handed over to his wife Suvarna.</p>
