The storm brought down a few full-grown trees and over 20 electricity poles in the city, plunging parts of Belagavi city into the dark.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The vehicular traffic in the city was disrupted for hours due to inundated roads, tree falls and uprooting of electricity poles in Hanuman Nagar, Jadhav Nagar, NCC Office and other localities.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Several houses in parts of the city have suffered partial damage in the rain.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The showers exposed lack of preparedness of Belagavi Municipal Corporation. The clogged drains left many roads flooded with rainwater.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Hescom officials and the staff have began operations to repair the lines and restore power supply on a war scale.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Rain accompanied by thunder, lightning and gusty wind lashed parts of Kalaburagi district on Friday evening.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The rain on the first day of June has left farmer smiling as it helps in sowing. Overcast conditions prevailed from the morning and the humidity too was high.
