<p class="bodytext">District In-charge Minister U T Khader has said that the state government has given approval for the rejuvenation of two lakes in Dakshina Kannada.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Khader said that Jalakada Kere in Mulki will be rejuvenated at a cost of Rs 2 crore while the Dadas Kere at Konaje will be developed at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The minister, who condemned the attack on paramilitary CRPF personnel at Pulwama, said that the attack was a heinous act by terrorists. “We are all with the soldiers who guard the country. The attack is not on the soldiers of the country alone, it is an attack on the pride and self-esteem of the country. The government should retaliate for the attack and we are all with the Central government,” said Khader.</p>.<p class="CrossHead">Financial bill</p>.<p class="bodytext">Lashing out at the BJP in Karnataka, the minister said, “The BJP has attempted to prevent the passing of the financial bill. The party members even disrupted the Governor’s address. Instead of taking part in the discussions on drought and the farmers’ woes in Karnataka, the BJP legislators were engaged in trooping into the well of the House and staging a protest.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">He also accused the BJP of not allowing the session to pass bills and function efficiently during the budget session.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Instead of issuing statements on not releasing funds for development activities, the BJP legislators from Dakshina Kannada should have participated in a fruitful discussion in the session and raised their voice in the session. The BJP members are indulging in self-interest and not the interest and welfare of the people of Karnataka,” Khader alleged.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah of being directly involved in a conspiracy to topple the coalition government in Karnataka.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“The BJP wanted to project that coalition government is not successful in the country and experimented their conspiracy in Karnataka but failed miserably,” he stated.</p>
