<p class="title">The experts from the Tiger Cell have verified that the photograph of the dead tiger found at Lakkunda and the images captured in the cameras used during the tiger operation are of the same tiger. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The forest department officials had sent both the photographs to Tiger Cell for confirmation.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Virajpet DCF in an official communique has said that the dead tiger (Tiger Nagarahole 13 U-285) at Lakkunda is the one that had claimed three human lives and killed several cattle in South Kodagu. </p>.<p class="bodytext">In a press release, the forest department has said that the officials had fired at the tiger for self-protection. There were bullet injuries on the neck and shoulder of the tiger. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Lakkunda is situated in close proximity to the place where three human lives were lost in the tiger attacks. The samples have been sent to FSL for testing.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“We will know the exact cause of death after getting the FSL report,” said PCCF Vijaykumar Gogi. </p>.<p class="bodytext">In spite of tracing the carcass of the man-eater tiger, the farmers and labourers have decided to continue the protest at Bellur. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Raitha Sangha Kodagu district unit president Kadyamada Manu Somaiah said the officials claim that the dead tiger is the same tiger that had claimed lives. However, suspicion persists in the minds of the public. All the remaining tigers that have strayed into the villages should be captured. </p>.<p class="bodytext">We will meet Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Forest Minister Aravind Limbavali in Bengaluru on March 22. The issues faced by the farmers will be brought to their attention. Till then the protest will continue, he added. </p>
