<p class="title rtejustify">Two women are said to have gone into coma stage within a few minutes of undergoing sterilisation surgery at the district hospital in the city on Wednesday.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">The women have been identified as Keerthi of Chikkenahalli, Channarayapatna taluk and Mahadevamma of Kikkeri in Mandya district. They have been shifted to Bengaluru for further treatment.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Meanwhile, their family members staged a flash protest claiming doctors’ negligence. According to a source, the surgeries were conducted on December 18. Both the women became unconscious as soon as they were administered the injection. Tension prevailed for a while at the hospital after the incident, as the family members claimed that the doctors had given high dosage injection which led to their unconsciousness.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">However, Resident Medical Officer Dr Krishnamurthy said there was no medical negligence. There is no need for anxiety, he said.</p>
