<p>The University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, will host the 107th Indian Science Congress (ISC) from 3-7th January 2020 with Science and Technology and Rural Development as the focal theme.</p>.<p>Speaking to media on Tuesday Vice-Chancellor of University of Agriculture Sciences, Bangalore, Dr S Rajendra Prasad said: "The prime minister will inaugurate the event and over 20,000 delegates comprising Nobel Laureates, scientists, scholars and lead speakers from foreign institutions, policymakers, students and other delegates are expected to participate in the congress."</p>.<p>"For the first time an exclusive session on “Farmers Science Congress” will be organised where farmers from across the country will deliberate on issues related to rural development in general and agricultural development in particular," he said.</p>.<p>President of Indian Science Congress Dr KS Rangappa said: "It is also decided to have an exclusive session on 'Former Vice-Chancellors Congress' to deliberate on issues related to higher education in the country. In this context, the theme of the congress gains significance and provides an excellent platform for the science fraternity to discuss new scientific ideas their sustainable livelihoods."</p>.<p>Other four major events of the congress are Science Communicators Meet, Children’s Science Congress. Science Exhibition and Women’s Science Congress, Rangappa said. </p>
