<p>Former executive officer of Kollur Sri Mookambika temple triggered a controversy by entering the restricted area of the temple ‘Lakshmi Mantapa’.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Former executive officer, T R Uma, entered the temple’s restricted area where the temple priests were present.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The officer as part of Suhasini Pooje was offering Bagina when the incident took place. A video clip of officer entering the area has gone viral on social media.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The temple management committee president Harish Kumar Shetty said a departmental inquiry will be conducted by Kundapur AC. “While offering the Baagina the officer need not enter the Lakshmi Mantapa,” he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The officer was not available for comment as she had immediately left the temple after the puja.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Executive officer H Halappa said the officer had admitted her mistake and apologised orally. However she was asked to tender a written apology.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Uma incidentally is the same officer who had complained against the misuse of ornaments in the temple by one, Shivram, in 2016.</p>
