<p class="bodytext">A video of Shiroor Mutt seer late Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji purportedly disrespecting a Daiva (demigod) of Tulunadu has gone viral on social media.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The video was captured during the annual family Nemotsava of Sri Rajya Kodamanittaya Daiva at Padubidri on January 19, 2018 in the residence of Balu Poojary. The seer, who was part of the religious programme, performed an Arathi to Daiva. After taking the Arathi Thali from the priest, he consumed the ‘Naivedya’ offered to the Daiva, said Keshav Amin, a member of Balu Poojary family.</p>.<p class="bodytext">During pooja, the seer had made a disrespectful gesture before the Daiva performer. The act had embarrassed those who had invited him. “But the daiva had not said anything,” Amin said adding that it is not prudent to question the behaviour of the seer who is no more and prayed for the salvation of the seer’s soul.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Daiva performer said the seer’s behaviour had pained him, but it is left to the God to decide.</p>
