<p>Power generation from units 2 and 8 at the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) has been stopped on Thursday due to an acute shortage of water.</p>.<p>Unit 7 has been taken up for maintenance while unit 1 has been closed due to a snag in the transformer. With that only four units are functioning. Power generation at the RTPS has come down to 600 MW.</p>.<p>At present, the thermal plant has water enough to run four units for a day. The authorities have initiated the process to get water from Narayanapur reservoir, according to Raichur Thermal Power Station sources.</p>
