New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day before the Lok Sabha election results. He also met Home Minister Amit Shah.
While speculations were rife that Nitish was in Delhi to ask for a role in the Centre if the BJP forms the government, leaders of the JDU said he was in the Capital for a routine health check-up and the meetings were mere courtesy calls.
Incidentally, in Bihar, leaders of the JDU demanded early polls in the state, keeping in line with the Centre’s demand for ‘one nation, one poll’. Reports of the failing health of the chief minister have also been making the rounds.
While neither party confirmed anything, speculations are rife that the JDU is keen to reap the benefits of a momentum in Bihar. If he leaves Bihar for a role in the Centre, the seat will go to the BJP while the JDU will send in the deputy CM.
