Monkey dies of electrocution in Madhya Pradesh village; locals hold traditional funeral

Rajgarh (MP): People of a village in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district held a traditional funeral for a monkey that died due to electrocution.

Residents of Tamolia village in Jeerapur tehsil took out a funeral procession before performing the last rites of the simian on Sunday.

Tamolia village sarpanch Hariom Tomar said villagers were upset about the monkey's death due to electrocution and decided to perform the last rites as per traditions.

Villagers joined the procession with a band and reached the crematorium after passing through bylanes of the village, he said.
