<p>Ace shuttler P V Sindhu was on Thursday appointed a deputy collector in Andhra Pradesh, with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu handing over the orders personally to her at Amaravati.<br /><br />Sindhu’s appointment was cleared following the approval of the state Assembly gathered in the new capital city to clear the GST Bill. <br /><br />The shuttler chose Andhra Pradesh over Telangana, where a similar offer was made. The order said Sindhu should report to the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration authorities in a month of receiving the order. <br /><br />“Issued an appointment order to PV Sindhu for post of Group 1 officer,” Naidu had said. “I am hopeful that she will bring more laurels to the country.” <br /><br />The shuttler responded by saying her focus would remain on Badminton and she would work hard to fulfil the aspirations of people. <br /><br />Job apart, the AP government also gave her Rs 3 crore cash prize and a 1,000 square yard residential plot in Amaravati following her silver medal at the Rio Olympics.<br /><br />Sindhu is currently working as a deputy manager in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited here. <br /><br />The 22-year-old shuttler lives in Hyderabad and gets training at the Pullela Gopichand Academy. Naidu’s government offered a 10-acre plot in Amaravati for Pullela to set up a badminton academy. <br /><br />Sindhu also received a 1,000 square-yard plot in the up market Shaikpet area here and a cash reward of Rs 5 crore from the Telangana government.</p>
