<p>The Vishwa Hindu Parisad (VHP) on Sunday criticised Jharkhand's BJP-led government for failing to strictly implement the law against cow slaughter and demanded ban on beef in the state.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The demand came a day after clashes between two communities here after a piece of beef was found in a temple situated in Doranda locality on Friday night. Two people sustained bullet injuries during the clashes.<br /><br />"We demand ban on beef in the state. When cow slaughter was banned in 2005, present Chief Minister Raghubar Das was a minister. Now, Das is taking no step to implement the law," Pramod Mishra, VHP's Jharkhand head, told IANS.<br /><br />He said: "We will write a letter to the president of India, the prime Minster, the governor and others to direct the state government to strictly follow the law against cow slaughter."<br /><br />"We also demand special task force and special court to arrest people involved in cow slaughter and their trial in courts." Mishra said: "There is no mechanism to keep watch on the slaughter houses."</p>
