<p>The Ram Temple campaign reached Delhi on Sunday with the VHP holding a ‘Dharma Sabha’ where senior Sangh leaders targeted the Narendra Modi government for “not fulfilling” its promise and asking the Supreme Court to listen to public sentiments.</p>.<p>At the VHP programme at Ramlila Maidan that comes two days before Parliament’s Winter Session, they urged the government to look for a legislative route to bypass the legal process as “people should be supreme and not court”.</p>.<p>Thousands of supporters from Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh attended the event where top RSS leader Suresh ‘Bhaiyyaji’ didn’t mince words and asked the Modi government to listen to people’s voice.</p>.<p>He also said the apex court should understand that if people do not trust the judicial system, the country cannot walk on the path of development.</p>.<p>“Those in power today had promised to construct a Ram Temple. They should listen to the people and fulfil the demand of a temple in Ayodhya. They are aware of the sentiments. We are not begging for it. We are expressing our emotions. The country wants ‘Ram Rajya’,” Joshi said.</p>.<p>Continuing to express unhappiness over the Supreme Court’s decision not to hurry into the case, Joshi said a country that develops distrust for the judicial system cannot walk on the path of development. “The Supreme Court should also delve into this factor and take public sentiments into account,” Joshi said.</p>.<p>The Sangh Parivar had come out in public against the Supreme Court after it set a January date to decide on when to start the hearing in the case. The Sangh has also been demanding that if needed, the government should bring a law to ensure construction of Ram Temple. “We are not engaged in a conflict with any community. We are not begging but expressing sentiments. Enacting a law is the only option for Ram Temple. The movement will continue till the promise is fulfilled,” he said.</p>.<p>VHP president Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje said public sentiments should be respected as “in democracy, the public should be supreme not court”.</p>.<p>In a warning to Modi, Swami Hansdevacharya of Haridwar said they will not let him off his seat until the temple is built.</p>.<p>The VHP campaign will culminate at Prayag (Allahabad) with a 'Dharam Sansad' on January 31 and February 1.</p>
