<p class="title">Farmers have vowed to launch “a surgical strike” against the Modi government by voting out the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies from power in the Lok Sabha elections “to avenge” the farmers' suicide that took place in different parts of the country in last five years.</p>.<p class="bodytext">At a recent meeting of the Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh (RKM) core committee, farmer leaders also decided to show black flags to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in protest in every State that he would visit to hold public meetings during Lok Sabha campaigns.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The meeting, which also decided to launch a nationwide campaign against Modi regime to sensitize voters on farmers issues across the country, was attended by prominent farmer leaders from various States including Shiv Kumar Kakkaji who was at the forefront of the massive farmers' agitation in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh in 2017.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Other farmer leaders who attended the RKM core committee meeting were Jagjit Singh and Sukhdev Singh from Punjab, Lakshman Wange and Shankar from Maharashtra, KV Bijju from Kerala, Hamid Malik from Jammu and Kashmir, Seva Singh Arya from Haryana and Vijender Choudhary from Uttar Pradesh among others</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Our forces carried out a surgical strike on terrorists to avenge the killing of over 40 Indian soldiers in a terror attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. It was decided in the meeting that the Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh will also carry out a surgical strike against the present government in the Lok Sabha elections to avenge the martyrdom of 75,000 farmers in last five years,” RKM leader Abhimanyu Kohad said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He accused the Modi government of taking many “anti-farmer” decisions during its five-year term, claiming that none of the promises that the BJP made before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls was fulfilled after it came to power at the Centre.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“A censure motion was passed against this anti-farmer government at the meeting,” he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The RKM has decided to hold press conferences at all big cities across the country during elections to highlight “the anti-farmer” decisions taken by the Modi government during its term. It will also reach out to the farming community to mobilise votes against the BJP and its allies.</p>
