The arrested suspect-- Ashish Mapre--- was believed to be part of the threesome who murdered the 15-year-old Abhishek Ghorpade in cold blood on May 5, severed his head and hanged the body on a tree, they said. Two minors too have been detained for interrogation in the case.
Previous enmity was reported to be the factor behind the gruesome act of teenage violence. The last rites of the deceased were performed by his parents in the presence of his grieving friends and teachers even as fire brigade and police divers gave up their efforts to recover the victim's head thrown in river Mutha that flows through the city.
