<div align="justify">Penmetsa Subbaraju, who played the twin shaded role of Kumara Verma, brother in law of Devasena in blockbuster Baahubali the Conclusion turned into a very crucial Tollywood link in the ongoing investigation on drug bust, probed by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Excise department here.<br /><br />Subbaraju who rose to national fame through his character in Baahubali struggled a lot in Tollywood to reach the spot that he is in. However his proximity with ace film maker Puri Jagannath and actor Ravi Teja made him one of the major witnesses to the drug racket that rocked the Telugu film industry. Reacting to the notices by the SIT, was on record saying that he fails to understand why he got these notices. <br /><br />“I never even smoked as I am health conscious I don’t even take English medicine so there is no question of me taking drugs,” he said. He further said that he never met the so called drug peddler Calvin and he doesn’t know how his number appeared in the peddlers call list. <br /><br />Subbaraju who was grilled for more than eight hours on Friday was the third Tollywood who’s who in row to be questioned the SIT officers at the SIT office in Nampally. According to Excise Enforcement Director Akun Sabharwal who spoke to media during a brief break given to Subbaraju said that the actor is cooperating. “He has information that could prove vital for the ongoing investigation. The questioning will continue. However I can’t divulge any more information,” Akun said.<br /><br />He added that actor Tarun will be questioned on Saturday and dancer Mumait Khan was summoned before the SIT on 27th. Meanwhile the state excise department has invited restaurants and pub owners and managers for a meeting on Drug issue on Saturday at the Abkari Bhavan.</div>
