BJP president Amit Shah on Sunday said that his party will never let reservations on the basis of religion as it is against the Constitution.
.
Shah addressed four meetings during his one-day whirlwind tour to the poll-bound Telangana where his party is contesting alone without any alliance.
.
At Parakala in Warangal district, Shah blamed TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for fearing the Majlis party. “KCR knows that the Constitution doesn’t allow more than 50% of reservations. Knowingly he promises 12% to Muslims. So which Backward Caste and Scheduled Caste brothers and sisters will lose their quota,” Shah said.
.
Shah wanted to know why the chief minister did not visit Kondagattu where 65 passengers died in a bus accident. “While people died there, KCR was having biryani with the Owaisi brothers,” Shah said.
.
Shah also hit out at KCR for not taking action against AIMIM chief Akbaruddun Owaisi in connection with a hate speech in Nirmal district, Adilabad. “In Nirmal town, Owaisi abused Hindu gods and goddesses. No FIR was filed. I am throwing a challenge to KCR, if he got guts let him file an FIR against Owaisi before December 5,” Shah said.
.
Addressing the rally, he also promised that the BJP will celebrate September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day once it comes to power in Telangana.
.
Continuing his tirade, Shah blamed KCR for bringing in huge expenditure on the Telangana exchequer by going for early elections.
.
“This is actually an early election for KCR’s family members. He reminded voters that Congress, TDP and TRS governments have failed to develop the state as they should have been.
.
“BJP gave seven times more funds for Telangana. Narendra Modi has given Rs 2, 30,000 crore for Telangana. Whereas the TRS has made a revenue surplus state into a state in the debt trap of Rs 2 lakh crore,” Shah alleged.
.
“After TRS came into power, 3,500 farmers committed suicide, which is the highest in the country,” he said asking the voters to cast their votes for BJP. He also said that BJP will make efforts to reopen the sick industries in Nirmal. Shah also addressed public meetings in Narayankhed and Dubbaka of united Medak district.
