The results of the elections to five state Assemblies show that the BJP is losing its influence among the people, Tamil superstar and wannabe politician Rajinikanth said on Tuesday, in a politically-significant statement, given his proximity to the saffron party.
.
“The results clearly show that the BJP is losing its influence among people,” the actor told reporters at the airport here when asked to comment on the state Assembly elections. The Congress is set to form governments in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
.
“Definitely, it is a huge setback for the BJP,” he added. Rajinikanth’s statement is very significant since this is the first time that the actor has come out against the BJP after he made his intention to enter politics last year.
.
Though it would be premature to conclude anything from one statement, political eyebrows rose on Tuesday after Rajinikanth said the results showed the BJP was losing its influence.
