<p>India’s third lunar exploration mission is set for the final leg of its descent phase. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) performed the final deboosting operation with the landing module (LM) of Chandrayaan-3 early on Sunday, taking it to a lower orbit and setting up its August 23 descent to the lunar surface.</p><p>“The second and final deboosting operation has successfully reduced the LM orbit to 25 km x 134 km. The module would undergo internal checks and await the sun-rise at the designated landing site," Isro said. Chandrayaan-3 was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 14.</p>
