On the first day of every year, many make a resolution to get fit and lead a healthier lifestyle, but very little have the discipline to follow through the year.

If you happen to own Apple Watch, there is a new contest that not only promises to offer motivation and stay true to the fitness resolution but also gets a chance to represent their city.

The Get Active India contest is hosted by Apple India's local distributors (Redington / Ingram) and authorised resellers.

As the user accumulates the points after completing the activities, he/she can help their respective city rise up in the ranks in India.

Here's how to participate in the Get Active India challenge:
Step 1: Download the Challenges App on your iPhone
Step 2: Enter the code ‘India’
Step 3: Select the city you would like to represent as your team ( List includes Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Rest of India)
Based on the individual’s body weight, participants are assigned a Move goal by the Challenges App (The Move goal in Challenges App is not the same as the Move goal you have set for yourself on your Apple Watch.)

At the end of each day, based on the points accumulated, the app hands out three badges-- Bronze (40 points), Silver (60 points) and Gold (80 points). With this, users can improve the rankings of their cities.
