<p>Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday commended the readers of Deccan Herald and Prajavani for contributing liberally towards the state’s flood relief measures.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The chief minister said the amount raised by the two leading dailies of Karnataka would go a long way in rebuilding parts of the state affected by the devastating floods.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Vijayan was speaking after Deccan Herald Deputy Editor B S Arun handed him over a cheque for Rs 1.36 crore raised by the Deccan Herald and Prajavani Relief Trust through its Kerala-Karnataka Flood Relief Fund.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Deccan Herald-Prajavani had last week presented a cheque for Rs 46.46 lakh to Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy towards relief measures in Kodagu district, which was also affected by flood fury.</p>
