<p>The polling for bye-election in three Lok Sabha constituencies and two Assembly constituencies in Karnataka will take place on November 3 and the votes will be counted on November 6.</p>.<p>The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday announced the schedule for the bypolls in Shimoga, Bellary and Mandya parliamentary constituencies as well as in Ramanagara and Jamkhandi Assembly constituencies in Karnataka.</p>.<p>The Shimoga parliamentary seat fell vacant as the BJP veteran B S Yeddyurappa resigned as a member of the Lok Sabha after he contested and won the state Assembly elections in May. B Sriramalu of the BJP and C S Puttaraju of the JD(S) too vacated the Bellary and Mandya Lok Sabha seats respectively, after contesting and winning the state Assembly polls. The JD(S) leader, H D Kumaraswamy, who is now the chief minister of the state, had contested and won from two constituencies, Ramanagara and Channapatna, in the Assembly elections earlier this year. He retained the Channapatna seat and gave up the Ramanagara seat. This necessitated the bye-election in Ramanagara. The death of Congress MLA Siddu Nyamagouda necessitated the bypoll in Jamkhandi Assembly constituency.</p>.<p>The Election Commission on Saturday announced that the notification for the bye-elections for the three Parliamentary and the two state Assembly seats will be issued on Tuesday. The candidates will be allowed to file nominations till October 16 and withdraw till October 20. The nominations will be scrutinised on October 17.</p>
