<p class="rtejustify">Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, which has adopted Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) considering the request of students, has modified regulations.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">VTU, as per guidelines of University Grants Commission (UGC), has adopted internationally acknowledged CBCS from the academic year 2015-16, to bring academic flexibility and to improve quality of technical education.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Students, who are admitted under the CBCS during the academic year 2015-16 and not eligible to the fifth semester, have requested to extend the facility of supplementary examination, carryover system or one-time exit scheme.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">The university has already considered the request of the students and modified the regulations. Students seeking admission to the third semester BE/BTech/BArch may carry four subjects from I year (i.e. I and II Semesters), the fifth semester BE/BTech/BArch may carry four subjects from I and II years (i.e. I to IV Semesters), seventh semester BE/BTech/BArch must have cleared all subjects of I year (I and II semesters) and may carry four subjects from II and III year (i.e. III and VI Semesters), ninth semester BArch must have cleared all subjects of I and II years (I to IV semesters) may carry four subjects from III and IV years (i.e. V and VIII Semesters). Subjects include both theory and practical. In this regard, a notification has already been issued by the university on September 7, 2018 and it is available in VTU’s website - www.vtu.ac.in.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Further, the students, who become eligible to study the fifth semester onwards under the 2015-16 scheme, will continue their studies in the same scheme. In order to keep academic excellence at VTU, the university authorities have decided not to relax the regulations further, according to a press release from Registrar Dr H N Jagannatha Reddy.</p>
