But it is also challenging, especially in difficult times - be these a direct result of Covid-19 or of its inevitably long shadow on the economy, which many expect will last for a year or more.

Getting our journalism out of the door involves both individual striving and selfless teamwork. What we bring you is the result of the hard work put in by our boots on the ground, the intrepid reporters and photo and video journalists who get the story for you at some personal hardship, young sub-editors on the online desk who anticipate and respond tirelessly to reader needs, sharp wordsmiths and canny commissioning editors who work late into the night, product specialists who make sure users have a top-quality experience, and our social media team with crucial updates that reach you on several platforms.

Understanding that digital media is powerful but also needs constant refuelling, many media houses the world over have put their content behind paywalls, meaning that you have to pay to access their news.
