Despite the district administration and the temple management restricting the entry of devotees to the Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamudi Hill, on all the Aashada Fridays, dignitaries including minister, actor, MP and MLA, visited the temple and had darshan of the goddess.

‘No entry for Aashada Friday Utsav atop Chamundi Hill’
Cooperation and District In-charge Minister S T Somasekhar said, “There will be no Aashada Friday Utsav at Sri Chamundeshwari temple, atop Chamundi Hill here, for the public in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic. Similarly, people cannot take part in the Vardhanthi Utsav on July 13.”
