Olympics Highlights | PM Modi congratulates Neeraj Chopra on Olympic silver
Hello, readers! After disappointing last few days, something to cheer about for Indian fans as Indian men's hockey team clinched a second successive bronze medal at the Olympic Games for the first time in 52 years with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Spain, giving veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh a fitting farewell. Neeraj Chopra threw his season's best of 89.45m to win the silver medal in the Men's Javelin Throw, his second Olympic medal. However, it was Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem who destroyed the competition with an Olympic record of 92.97m to bag the gold. Aman Sehrawat lost to top seed Rei Higuchi in the semifinals. Meanwhile, the Indian Olympic Association has knocked on the doors of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to intervene after Vinesh Phogat's unfortunate disqualification from the finals of the women's freestyle wrestling 50 kg category. Thanks for tracking all the latest updates from the 2024 Paris Olympics, here on DH.
